Reading the site and using the tools

You can read our articles without an account. We do not operate a newsletter, comment system, contact form or visitor analytics service. Images and fonts are served with the site. The storage-fit planner and pull-out calculator process measurements in your browser; they do not send them to us or store them on a server. Checklist selections stay within the current page session.

Hosting and technical information

OpenAI hosts this site through ChatGPT Sites, using Cloudflare infrastructure for delivery and security. Requests necessarily disclose technical information such as your IP address, requested page, browser information and request time to the hosting infrastructure. These providers may process request and security logs to deliver pages, investigate faults and protect against abuse. Our basis for this processing is our legitimate interest in maintaining a secure, available website. We do not maintain a separate visitor database or export visitor logs for marketing.

OpenAI processes hosted data on our behalf under its Sites Data Processing Addendum. Cloudflare explains its processing, including technical logs, in its privacy policy.

Cookies, advertising and your choices

This site loads the Google AdSense script. Google’s European regulations consent message has been published for this site. Where the message applies, it offers Consent, Do not consent and Manage options. Loading the script connects your browser to Google. Advertising availability depends on Google’s approval and applicable consent choices. We do not load a visitor analytics script. Cloudflare sets the strictly necessary __cf_bm security cookie to distinguish automated traffic from ordinary visitors. It expires after 30 minutes of continuous inactivity and is not used by us for advertising. See Cloudflare’s cookie documentation. Other essential security technologies may be applied when needed to protect access. Browser controls can restrict cookies, although restricting essential cookies may affect access.

The site includes verification metadata for Google Search Console and AdSense, and a public ads.txt record. These records are static text; the separately loaded AdSense script is described below. We use Search Console to see search-performance reports; no Search Console tracking script is installed in visitors’ browsers.

When Google services load, your browser may send Google information including your IP address, the page URL and browser details. Google may use cookies or read existing cookies as described in How Google uses information from sites that use its services. When advertising is enabled, Google and its partners may use advertising cookies to serve ads based on prior visits to this or other websites. You can manage Google personalized-ad settings in My Ad Center. This does not replace your choices in the site’s consent message. Where available, use Google’s Privacy and cookie settings link to manage or withdraw your consent.

Correspondence

You may send privacy questions or requests by post to MediaMetics B.V., Privacy, Van Leeuwenhoeckstraat 8 BS, 3514 GW Utrecht, Netherlands. Please include only the information necessary to explain your request and a way to reply. We use correspondence to answer questions, handle corrections and exercise legal rights, relying on legitimate interests or legal obligations where applicable. We do not use it for unsolicited marketing.

How long information is kept

Planner inputs and checklist selections are not retained by us. We keep correspondence while handling the matter and for up to 12 months after it is closed, unless a legal duty or an ongoing dispute requires longer retention. Google describes its retention practices in its data-retention policy. Hosting and security logs are managed by our infrastructure providers. Their retention depends on the purpose of the record, security investigations and legal requirements, as described in the provider documents above; we do not set or claim a fixed site-specific deletion period for those logs.

Recipients and international processing

Data needed to operate the site may be processed by OpenAI, Cloudflare, Google and their service providers, including outside the European Economic Area. Google describes its processing and transfer practices in its privacy policy. The OpenAI addendum describes applicable transfer safeguards, including standard contractual clauses. Cloudflare describes its use of the EU–US Data Privacy Framework and standard contractual clauses in its privacy policy. Information may also be disclosed when required by law. We do not sell visitor information or use it to make automated decisions with legal or similarly significant effects.

Your rights

Subject to the conditions in data-protection law, you can request access, correction, deletion, restriction and portability of your personal data, and object to processing based on legitimate interests. Send a request to the postal address above. We may ask for proportionate information to verify your identity. You can also complain to the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens, the Dutch data-protection authority, or your local supervisory authority.
